Are you planning to go to a concert in Arizona? The quality and atmosphere of the music largely depends on the concert venue. Therefore, it is very important to choose the best for live music.
I have prepared for you a list of the 11 best venues where regular music shows are held. Also, for your convenience, I have added links to our website where you can buy tickets for concerts in Arizona in all described venues.

1. The Van Buren - Phoenix, AZ

The Van Buren Reviews:

  • I love this place. I remember going to school at ASU years ago when they were renovating the building and hoping that it would "be something cool" when they were done. Well, they definitely delivered. The Van Buren is a beautiful music venue and there is so much attention to detail in the way it was designed. The aesthetic is great. The space is big enough where you don't feel cramped but small enough to where you can see from anywhere in the venue, even at sold out shows. I have been to numerous shows here and have always had a great experience. Everyone working there from security to the bartenders have been extremely friendly and helpful. I love how there is always a variety of events - from concerts to dance parties and more. Something for everyone for sure. They get some awesome people booked here, too. Always a great experience and a venue that I think Downtown Phoenix really needed. Love it there!
  • One of the nicest if not the best venues in Arizona. Drinks are reasonably priced and sound is amazing from the back to the front. They have a balcony so you can go and be away from the crowds. Employees were fast and efficient. Was extremely impressed with this place and will be back for any show I wanna see. Wow!
  • Cant say enough about this place. Such a cool venue. The staff super friendly. My only complaint and it's small is there is no bathroom upstairs. Keep up the great work and cant wait to go back and be a VIP. (Source)

  • Great place for small local artists. The concert atmosphere is absolutely amazing! I have been here multiple time, and would love to go again!
  • Great little venue. Overpriced drinks, as per the usual with any show. I do like the church pews along the walls. The place is pretty clean, for the most part. Friendly and helpful staff. No slanted floor that kills your lower back. Could use a little more decorative touches inside. Ladders and other equipment sitting near the front door wasn't very attractive.
  • My friend, she invited me over there. Nice music. I had fun over there 🎼🎵🎶 🎤🎧. Source.

Valley Bar Reviews:

  • Amazing low key nightlife spot. Decor is dark and mysterious but also super fun to look at. Drinks were moderately priced. Private and hidden so definitely a great date night spot. Music was good. From what I remember they had games you could play. Overall clean atmosphere, attentive staff and great vibes.
  • We love this place. We've come here to see a few concerts and also just to hang out with friends. The concert room has a separate bar, but the main bar has such a cool vibe. Drinks are a little pricey but they are totally worth it, and the staff are great. They have games like jenga and few arcade games in the back. We will definitely be back!
  • The happy hour here is hands down one the best in AZ, I enjoy going here alone due to the books. It reminds me of being in New York, I am bi coastal and this gives me a vibe of being home. I come here often for the Pink Peppercorn Ice Cream. (Source)

Capacity: 1,500

Address: 730 N Mill Ave, Tempe, AZ 85281, United States (Directions)

Marquee Theatre Reviews:

  • Sometimes it is better to see artists perform in a smaller venue and when I saw John 5 on the bill for a show here, I knew I would be able to get a good enough view to study his playing technique. I definitely was not disappointed. The facility's design is such that the front of house does not have to fight the acoustics of the place to get the mix to sound good regardless of your location. It is not so packed you feel like a sardine either. A very good place to see a concert.
  • I have never been to a bad show at Marquee. I love the venue, especially after the remodel. Location is awesome. Bartenders rock. Security is cool - if you are. It's a small to midsize venue with great sound and space. Like any concert, you get out what you put in. Only downside is there is a little bit of a walk from parking garage if front lot is full. $10 bucks for parking.
  • Had a great time at Iration New Years concert. All the band's that played were great. I would love to do it again. (Source)

The Crescent Ballroom Reviews:

  • This venue has it all whether you are the show or the patron. Restaurant with seating indoors and a patio. The concert hall is just the right size for up and coming bands keeping it personal but not like broom closet in a cave. Security does an awesome job keeping under age patrons separate from the party crowd and bleachers set up in the back for us chaperone parents. When we go, we have a small meal in front and when the doors open we walk about ten feet, hand them the tickets then walk right in the venue. Below is a photo of a meet and greet before the main show.
One of my all time favorite venues.
  • The ballroom is intimate, I love that I can see my favorite artists so up close. The sound is great. They have 2 bars. They even have an upstairs dining area. They're wonderful.
  • Awesome place. Took my 16yr to a concert, fell uneasy about taking her to a lounge bar. It was a clean and friendly venue. I was able to hang out in the lounge while concert went on. Nice service and they let stay till concert was over. It felt very safe and festive. Loved the atmosphere! Will definitely come back. (Source)

Orpheum Theatre Reviews:

  • One of my favorite places to go for elegance, community and culture. I was at a Nutcracker performance and BRAVO to the entire cast! I enjoyed myself immensely. And from the ticket takers at the doors to the ushers showing me to my seat, everything was done with a smile and greeting and with top notch professionalism. Ill definitely be back for more shows and events and bring friends.
  • We saw the nutcracker. The performance was amazing, the theater is beautiful. My mom and I really enjoyed the experience. Theater is small enough to be able to see well no matter where you sit. We will visit again!
  • My husband and I went to the Orpheum for the first time last night and were blown away by the incredible architecture and detailing! Everything was very well run down to the smallest details. My only wish for the future would be that the show start on time. (Source)

Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre Reviews:

  • I attended a concert here and the staff were well trained and kind. I am disabled and was nervous about scaling the staircase. A staff member ushered me to an area that was more accessible, and it was appreciated. I will definitely attend more concerts here.
  • I have been to many shows here. Truly the venue is great for lawn seats. There are very few areas on the lawn with restricted views. The seats are not very comfortable, but of course you can always see the performers better closer. There are many women’s stalls in the bathrooms as well. You used to be able to bring short leg beach chairs and no longer can as they now rent them.
  • I went to see Slipknot in August, it's obviously outdoors so it will get hot/cold but it's a decent venue. It's big so you can wander around a bit, I not only got to see some of my favorite bands but I got to watch all the drunks trip over flat pavement. So two shows in one 👍. (Source)

9. Club Red - Mesa, AZ

Hosting a variety of national & local acts, this buzzing live music venue features 2 stages.

Address: 1306 W University Dr, Mesa, AZ 85201, United States (Directions)

Club Red Reviews:

  • Good small venue. Staff is friendly and pleasant. Prices aren't bad at all for shows. There seems to be a food truck open at every show; though I haven't tried it as of yet, I've never heard anyone complaining about the food. The true elevated stage allows a view all the way from the back. Sound is decent to good for the type of venue.
  • This place has a lot of character! Hard rock or heavy metal type place. It's cozy but there is not a lot of seating. The bartender was great and the drinks are low priced. A big thanks to the bartender (Hawkins). He was quick and a really nice guy. There is an outdoor area to sit and smoke or whatever so that was nice in between sets. Another great thing about this place is they had the volume set to a level that was intense but did not kill my ears. This is a serious factor for me at indoor live shows and they seem to be responsible with the loudness. I happened to forget my ear plugs and my ears did not ring all the next day. I hope you guys take that as a compliment and as a cue that you have to go louder. For a death metal place I actually got a really positive vibe from the staff and the crowd overall. Would definitely go back.
  • So, caveat. I've only been here for one type of show (Metal concerts) so I can't speak to other setups. That said, the experience of the club was completely forgettable once the show started, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm not here for the club, I am here for the band and the club facilitates that. Never heard a sound issue, never noticed a lighting issue. The bar was well stocked, the specials were pretty tasty and not terribly expensive. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the food truck they had whenever I was there for a concert was really expensive for what I felt was 'eh' level food. (Source)

Desert Diamond Arena Reviews:

  • Gila River Arena itself is clean and staff is friendly. We went to see the Toby Mac Concert. Probably the best Concert I have ever been to. Lot G parking is right next door to the Arena. Lots of fun nightlife around the arena. We were in the upper level but could still see the venue well! We had an amazing time.
  • Honestly one of the best venues in sports. The food is excellent with a wide variety of options. There's ample access to all amenities and lots of room to walk and still catch the game on TVs or standing areas above the seating on case your toddler gets restless during the game like mine did...
  • What a great place to see a show. Tool was amazing as usual. I go to so many concerts I have to say this is by far my favorite venue. The outdoor area is amazing so much to do and see. I'm from Philadelphia, Philly should take note and follow in their footsteps because WOW. (Source).
