Webster Hall Reviews:

  • I love Webster Hall! Huge venue and the staff there are cool and laid back while still being very attentive. They have a nice lounge area near the entrance/exit where you can enjoy some drinks and snacks at the bar before heading upstairs to the main stage areas. There are bars scattered everywhere throughout so you will never go thirsty ;)
  • Mixed feelings about this place. Pros: Large venue with freedom to roam the floor or the balcony. Lounge/ bar area downstairs by the bathrooms where you can still hear the music and watch from screens. Average beer prices. Good sound and light production. Security thoroughness is average. Good location, easy to get to. Cons: Excruciating lines. I have been stuck in entry lines that wrap around the block, even an hour+ after doors opened. THEN once inside, I had to wait almost 40 minutes to check my coat. It seems like their staff/ organization is just really sloppy. I've also had experiences where staff is very short-tempered and rude, either yelling or pushing past, unprovoked.
  • One of the best concert venues in New York because they truly customize the experience to each artist and bring in the best acts. The entire place is newly renovated and easy to navigate. I'm tall, so I don't mind the standing room only, but I have seen shorter people get annoyed when they have to jockey for space to see the stage. Will be going back soon! (Source)

The Paramount Reviews:

  • It was my fist time there. The service was smooth and friendly. My only issue was the seating. My friend and I were seated on bar stools along the back wall. The first 2 seats when you come up the stairs, at the top of the left balcony. Seated or standing, we could not see the show at all. We were forced to go stand in the VIP section. Which was an issue with security who told us to go back to our seats. Overall, I enjoyed the music. I'd go back again if I got different seats.
  • One of the best venues out on long island, this past weekend me & my wife just happen to be in the neighborhood for a weekend outing and saw the new bar that opened. staff and bartender were great they even gave water to our dog. Asked about booking my band and inquiring about booking events the bartender was very helpful in providing information.
  • The bouncer Jason is the best bouncer I've ever had the pleasure of catching me while crowd surfacing. This guy's catch is soft like the cloud and he is absolutely the best person to catch you while crowd surfacing because its like landing in a cloud when he catches you. Seriously the best!! Saw Motion City Soundtrack here tonight, and the venue was pretty good. Overpriced drinks tho :( (Source)

Town Hall Reviews:

  • Nice intimate place. Seats space a bit small but manageable. The Mockingbird project was excellent very insightful and informative. I think everyone should watch this. I wish more of my coworkers attended due to dealing directly with mass incarceration.
  • I saw City and Colour here, and the acoustics in this venue where phenomenal. It’s the perfect sized theater to maintain an intimate feeling while also enabling the excited energy of a large enough crowd. It’s kind of an old building, which adds interesting character (since I didn’t experience any problems because of that).
  • This is such a quintessential New York institution. The seats are comfortable in the view lines are all good. I love the historical information posted on the walls upstairs. I wish I could have been there for the Margaret Sanger riot in 1921. (Source)

Warsaw Reviews:

  • The venue itself is comfortable. It's a large space and a good place to catch a show, but some things need to be changed. Like how they have 1 coat check for 500+ people. Had a good time but had to stand in a very long line to leave.
  • Staff was super cool, sound was good, and the place was clean. Next time I know not to eat before I go because the Polish food they were whipping out smelled so good!!
  • Atmosphere/layout: main room is for events/concerts (went to see the Dead South); small balcony; two rooms off the main room, one is the bar with a few tables (and a designated smoking area), the other was a "bistro" served food; good acoustics; didn't feel too small. (Source)

Upstate Concert Hall Reviews:

  • Great hall! CASH ONLY for tickets at the door. Looked like the middle bar took cards. $4 PBR tall-boys and low lighting fostered a dive bar charm. Sound was good, if bass heavy, on the left side. Right side, not as much. Men's room had a paper towel attendant to keep an eye on things. fka/ Northern Lights.
  • I come here for a ton of shows. Always sounds good. Holds about 1200 people, I think. Beer prices are good as well. Great venue for metal.
  • Saw a few amazing shows here. Great sound, nice size. The location can throw you off if you aren't careful but worth going to! (Source)

6. The Rooftop at Pier 17 - New York, NY

Pier 17

Located in New York City’s founding neighborhood, Pier 17 is drenched in history. A stone’s throw from the Financial District and The World Trade Center, the area has more recently been synonymous with Wall Street workers and tourists visiting the 9/11 Memorial. But this summer changes all that with the re-launch of Pier 17 at the Seaport District NYC. Home to the Seaport Museum and the city’s largest concentration of restored maritime buildings, Pier 17 is being reclaimed for New Yorkers via dynamic food, drink, art, architecture, retail, and entertainment concepts that foster community and engage the city’s denizens, year-round.

The Rooftop at Pier 17 Reviews:

  • Pier 17 is a hidden gem. There are restaurants with great views of Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Bridge, East River and the New York Harbor. It's easy to get to and not crowded. But I feel that won't last long. Once everything is open and warm, this place is going to be THE PLACE!
  • Went on a Wednesday evening for ice skating. It was such a nice experience. The check in process was quick, fill out a waiver, pick up your skates and your off. The rink is pretty small, but for a Wednesday night there was a small crowd. The view was awesome. They have an indoor area where you can lounge, but food and drinks. The server was very friendly and attentive! The grilled cheese and soup is pretty good. I’d get it again!
  • I love this place! It is family oriented. You can also take a nice Leisure walk. A great photo op location! The sceneries are breathe taking! There are seesaws to play with and ice skating on the roof in the winter! And great live band venues here too! Thank you for your service. (Source)

Clean facilities. Public Restrooms. Credit cards accepted. Great for live performances such as music and dance. Highly recommended. We will definitely be going back.
  • Nice conference and concert space in Nassau county, Long Island. It can seat around 2200 people. Great acoustics and a pretty good lineup of acts, including Jerry Seinfeld.
  • Had a wonderful experience with my parents and sister. They go every year and rave about the Holiday show. This year was my first year and I had a great time! Very festive performances, it put me into the Christmas spirit! I hope to go back for year 37+! (Source)

8. Town Ballroom - Buffalo, NY

Town Ballroom - Buffalo, NY

Originally called The Town Casino between the 1940s and 60s, the venue looms large in Buffalo’s history. In the midst of her heyday, the Main Street club was the Queen city’s finest restaurant and night spot. She was home to shuffling showgirls and tough guys playing cards in the basement (Al Capone among them). The room also hosted a myriad of musical legends such as Frank Sinatra, Nat ¨King¨ Cole, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Les Paul. Anyone who was anyone played the Town Casino.

Address: 681 Main St, Buffalo, NY 14203, United States (Directions)
Phone: +1 716-852-3900

Town Ballroom Reviews:

  • Like this venue for its intimate setting and good security. $5 for a 12oz beer is a bit much, at least offer a 16oz draft. But no. Otherwise good. Pictures are from The Glorious Sons concert last night.
  • Security did a great job moving through the line outside efficiently in frigid temperatures. "Will call" area was poorly laid out, people had to walk back across the others still in line after getting their tickets. Three employees at coat check (one to ask how many coats, one to take money, and one to take the coat) was odd. Bars were appropriately staffed for the crowd and bartenders were attentive and pleasant.
  • The number one venue to see a concert in Buffalo, hands down. They are quick and efficient getting people in the doors. An excellent bar area outside the main spot where the bands play. They have 3 tiers of standing room and you always have a good view of the stage. Whenever I see one of my favourite bands is playing in Buffalo, I always hope that it's at the Town Ballroom. Address: 51 S Pearl St, Albany, NY 12207, United States (Directions)
Capacity: 17,500
Phone: +1 518-487-2000

MVP Arena Reviews:

  • Decent size arena, not huge like the MSG in NYC. We went to see a comedy show and had some nice floor seats. We were able to see the comedians on stage and of course on the two screens. The food and drink prices were ridiculously high for as lousy as they were, especially the popcorn. The popcorn tasted like it was doused in salt. For a 20oz bottle of water it cost $5. We couldn't finish the popcorn because of how salty it was, and I certainly wasn't spending another $5 for a bottle of water. The staff at the arena was nice and helpful with everyone especially when they were helping guests find their seats.
  • Great venue for concerts -- we had the moderately priced seats and the sound and sight lines were good. But on the return to the parking areas, the escalators should have been set to bring us up but they were not. We had to climb innumerable stairs on the return trip.
  • Nice arena. They do sell beer at around 12 to 13 dollars for a medium cup from on tap or for a pint-sized can (a tall boy). They have a smoking section which is outside but at least they have that because if you leave the arena for any other destination you won't be allowed back in, or so I was told, but they seemed serious about that rule.
