ZEBRA

Legendary rock band ZEBRA, known for its enduring presence in the music world, announces an exciting 2024 tour. This marks the 49th year since the band's formation, and they show no signs of slowing down. With original members Randy Jackson, Felix Hanemann, and Guy Gelso, the group is set to embark on a comprehensive tour across the United States.

Tour Details: New Dates and Special Performances

  • New Tour Dates: ZEBRA has released twelve new tour dates across the U.S., with promises of additional shows to be announced soon.
  • Highlight Event - Zebra Weekend: A highlight of the tour is the special "Zebra Weekend" set for November 22 and 23, 2024, at the Fillmore in New Orleans. This event will be recorded for future release, adding to the band's rich legacy.

A Year of Milestones

2024 is shaping up to be a landmark year for ZEBRA, as the band not only tours but also works on several major projects:

  • New Album: Randy, Felix, and Guy are diligently crafting new music with an album slated for release later in the year.
  • First Album Reissue: Fans can look forward to a reissue of ZEBRA's debut album, featuring colored vinyl and a bonus disc of rare tracks and out-takes.
  • Documentary in Progress: A documentary, tentatively titled "Tell Me What You Want: 50 Years Of Zebra," is currently in production. It will offer a deep dive into the band's history, featuring new interviews, tour clips, and never-before-seen footage.

Reflecting on the Past Year

Reflecting on the band's recent activities, co-founder Randy Jackson said, "In 2023 we performed more shows than we have in over 30 years, and 2024 promises to be even busier." Last year, the band celebrated the 40th anniversary of its debut album by playing it in full at various shows, a tradition they plan to continue in new cities during their 2024 tour.

ZEBRA's Musical Journey

Since bursting onto the scene in 1975 from New Orleans, ZEBRA has left an indelible mark on rock music. Their journey began with an inspired name choice from a 1926 Vogue magazine cover, leading to widespread acclaim across the South and East Coast.

Celebrating Iconic Albums and Recognition

  • Debut Album Success: Their self-titled debut album, released on March 21, 1983, achieved gold status and became the fastest-selling debut in Atlantic Records history at the time.
  • Hall of Fame Inductions: ZEBRA's significant contributions to rock music have been recognized with inductions into both the Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame (2010) and the Long Island Music Hall Of Fame (2012).

Live Performances: A Blend of Classics and Surprises

ZEBRA's live shows are a testament to their musical prowess, blending classic hits with surprising covers. This year, they will perform their debut album in full, alongside fan favorites like "Who's Behind The Door?" and "Tell Me What You Want." The band is also known for their exceptional renditions of LED ZEPPELIN classics.

As ZEBRA continues its remarkable journey, the 2024 tour and upcoming projects promise to be a thrilling chapter in the band's storied history.
