John Gorka, a New Jersey-born singer/songwriter, emerged in the '80s new folk scene with his expressive baritone. Known for albums like "I Know" and "Out of the Valley," he's acclaimed for wit and character depth. He won the 1984 Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Award and collaborated with artists like Mary Chapin Carpenter and Kathy Mattea. His notable releases include "When She Kisses Me" and the album "Red Horse" with Eliza Gilkyson and Lucy Kaplansky.
