Venezuela-born salsa singer and bassist Oscar D'León, from Caracas’ Etamin neighborhood, is known as El Leon de la Salsa. He founded la Dimensión Latina in 1973 and scored an early hit with “Pensando en Ti,” later forming la Salsa Mayor.
