About Test Dept

Test Dept, formed in 1981 in New Cross, London, is a pioneering industrial music group. Known for aggressive percussion, experimental electronics, and using scrap metal as instruments, they blend sound with radical politics and multi-media performances. Notable albums include "The Unacceptable Face of Freedom" and "Disturbance." A new album is noted for 2026. They collaborated with the South Wales Striking Miners' Choir.
