Born in Houston, TX, jazz legend Jason Moran, a pianist and composer, debuted with "Soundtrack to Human Motion" in 1999. Known for blending jazz with hip-hop, funk, and blues, he has collaborated with Meshell Ndegeocello and Marvin Sewell, and scored Ava DuVernay's "Selma." Awards include the MacArthur Genius Grant.
