Royal Hospital Kilmainham Concerts 2025

This place is steeped in war history and that of the aged service men at the time. A few of the areas you can see are now the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA). Otherwise, the grounds are well kept and you can see where the fence lines are, the service men Cemetery and a few other buildings of those in charge. Worth going into the information centre first to gain insight into the use of the building.

Beautiful spot located close to Heuston Station. Fabulous gardens with a great art exhibition and all free. Plenty of parking at €3.50 for 3 hours. Lovely cafe in the basement and I would recommend the ham & cheese sandwich which came with a generous portion of real ham. Staff very friendly.

This is the home of the Irish Muesum of Modern Art, IMMA, featuring many excellent exhibitions and encounters with contemporary and modern art both International and Irish.The Royal Hospital Kilmainham is the finest 17th-century building in Ireland, and commonly known as the ‘RHK’. Its also the oldest classical building in Ireland and was based on its sister building, Les Invalides in Paris, with a formal facade and a large elegant courtyard. and the famous  Royal Hospital Chelsea which was completed two years later. More on the history of the RHK cam be found on site on the "Old Man's" exhibition. IMMAs exhibition space also includes the nearby Garden Galleries and the artists studios that often host sessions with artists, do see the website for more info.

Steeped in history, well worth visiting and learning about the Irish famine and uprisings.

One of my all time favourite modern art venues in Europe. You can visit so many times and see a different aspect of buildings gardens and exhibitions.
