Alexandra Palace Theatre Reviews

The performance of A Christmas Carol at Alexandra Palace Theatre was a delightful experience. The combination of a talented cast, set and props, music, and direction created a truly magical theatrical experience. This production is a perfect holiday treat for families and theatre lovers alike. It serves as a reminder of the importance of kindness, compassion, and the spirit of Christmas. If you haven't already, I highly recommend checking out A Christmas Carol on stage. It's a timeless classic that will leave you feeling inspired and full of holiday cheer.

Went to see the Daniel Howell’s show on the 10th and the whole area is really beautiful. The seats inside are also very comfortable and the view is amazing no matter where you’re seated.

Went to see Treason, the new musical. Very enthusiastic and talented cast had rather underwhelming material to work with. The theatre is lovely; restored about 5 years ago in the "arrested decay" style. Personally I would have preferred to see a full restoration to its original glory, but it is still enchanting. Lots of parking - note it's no longer free - and you can get coffee and cake in the interval!

The theatre is nice and spacious, with a good view from every point. It was refurbished, but it's not exactly all shiny and new. There are gaping holes in the walls, unfinished plasterwork everywhere. I think, the idea was to leave it like this and it’s really impressive, but I'm not sure in a good way or bad.

Visited in June 2023. 4.5/5. We came to watch the orchestral version of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet for the Backyard Cinema experience. First time to the theatre part of AP, which was a lot more spacious than meets the eye. It was a large auditorium and the acoustics were great, especially with the live performances mixed with the film. Despite the size, the seating wasn’t the best and definitely purposefully built - which brings down the score. The foyer had a large entrance hall with good facilities. There are places to buy snacks and refreshments - prices seemed fairly reasonable. The staff were friendly when we did interact with them. Also, there are a lot of other activities to do around AP, so make the most of it while you’re there.
