I was there for the Veterans Day parade. There are many small shops/restaurants in the area to sit down have coffee or a meal while watching cars and people go by. Perfect area for a date night.

It's nice as a park. If you live closer to Los Angeles, it will take you over 2 hours to get there due to freeways being worked on and major traffic. It's an ugly drive to this place. Not scenic at all. If your going there for a Blues Festival, be expected to pay lots of money for everything. It will cost you big money to sit near the stage, to eat and to park. If you can afford the good seats and good area under the shade you sort of will enjoy the show if you like sitting in cheap plastic chairs. Those who are on a budget and can't afford to sit in the area closer to the stage and in the shade, will still have to pay a lot to get inside the park and will be expected to sit on the grass in the very hot sun. The food is expensive too. Since you are not allowed to bring food in, forcing you to buy from the trucks selling food, or umbrellas, you must suffer in the sun and possibly go without food and water for hours. If you can't afford the VIP parking out front, and there is not a lot of parking space there, they will send you far away to a huge dirt parking lot that people park where ever they want. When I left early, cars were parked across the lot preventing exit. I had to slowly drive my car over a curb, onto a sidewalk and over a very high curb and drop. I just wanted to get the hell out and get home. I suffered all day at this place. A friend had bought me a ticket and I had to go and stay for hours in the heat. Since it is close to the desert, as soon as the sun went down, it got super cold. I went from hot and perspiring to freezing in minutes. $40 entry fee, got me so far away from the stage. I could barely see the bands and the sound was off. The bands were not that good either. If you want to hear good music and enjoy your day/evening, just go where these bands normally play for free and indoors at nice venues. All the bands that were there, I have seen at nice restaurants, bars, and night clubs for free. They did have some benches in the shade, about 8-10, they were all taken. So in conclusion this place is just a giant park with a stage.

Open field perfect for playing ball, flying kites, and laying a mat for picnic. There's a paved path around thr grass area perfect for little ones riding bikes or grownups going for an easy stroll. There are benches along the path to rest and trees around the field for some shade. Trash bins and water fountains too! The stage area with tiered steps is wheelchair accessible. And the bottom of the stage "pit" is stone paved. It's a really nice open place to play but bring your own toys. 😁 Park at the library and walk a very short easy distance or park in the dirt area next to the park.

I love walking around this little park/auditorium whenever I need to stretch my legs at any time during the day or night. It's always so calm and peaceful and feels super safe being located right next to the police station.
