Fillmore Minneapolis Reviews:

  • Great venue. Intimate feel. Bars in every corner. Highly recommend attending a concert there. Easy access with several parking ramps. Management, bar tenders, waitresses, and the rest of the staff are so friendly. I will be back. Sound is great at the venue.
  • I really liked this venue. There's lots of space, other than the coat check filling up and the lack of parking in the area this venue is great. Beers runs about $10 each but that's pretty standard. The lines go fast and the venue inside is beautiful. Excited to see more shows here!
  • Incredible new event venue set up perfectly for music and entertaining. Love the unique layout, seating, bars, and VIP lounge. Staff are incredibly attentive and helpful. It was easy to find, park, and walk. Food in the lounge for opening weekend was fantastic. (Source)

Varsity Theater Reviews:

  • Good little spot! My drink was really good and quite large in size! Great security (as well as police on site) but it takes awhile to get in because they have hand held metal detectors and have to check each person! It's standing room only and gets extremely packed, the sooner you get in the closer you can get to the stage. If you have to leave the stage (ie. use the bathroom or get another drink) it can be a little bit of a challenge to get back to your friends, but I did it...😉
  • Very nice little venue. Bartenders are great. Laid back atmosphere. I would recommend VIP seating if available. The only downside is finding parking can be difficult depending on day and time, as it's in dinkytown.
  • Saw Sabrina Claudio last night! She has the most amazing vocals I have ever heard live. I’ve been to this very cool venue, but last night I went upstairs & there crazy structured bathrooms. I felt like I was in a luxurious bathroom cave. It was really cool. Nonetheless, security wasn’t too invasive, crowd wasn’t too crazy, sound was perfect, there was a cute bar upstairs & downstairs, and AC flowed nicely when it was getting a little hot. (Source)

3. Turf Club - Saint Paul, MN

Turf Club - Saint Paul, MN

According to the website tcmusic.net, the Turf Club had a “reputation as the Twin Cities’ foremost place for country two-stepping long before line dancing became a pop-culture phenomenon.” It’s known today as the “best remnant of the 1940s,” and one of the Twin Cities’ most popular venues for live music.

Address: 1601 University Ave W, St Paul, MN 55104, United States (Directions)

Turf Club Reviews:

  • Very cool venue! This place has some history! Has great food & brews! Turf Club on main level with a nice stage & the Clown Lounge downstairs. Very cool decor! We really enjoyed the band & thank you to Matt for the heads up on the great seating!
  • One of the world’s greatest music rooms. Sightlines are excellent from anywhere in the club. Sound is incredible for everything from comedy to chamber orchestra to hip hop to rock and roll. Drinks are reasonably priced and the beer selection is fantastic for a smaller room. Downstairs is the Clown Lounge which is a cool bar away from the show. The menu is far better than one should expect from a venue. Staff is very professional and handle their roles well.
  • The Turf Club is an institution, see a show there if you can! It's nothing flashy, but you get a more intimate show with great artists! And they have a pretty solid beer menu! (Source)

First Avenue Reviews:

  • I always have a good experience here. Bartenders have cups of water at the ready, and drinks are reasonably priced. The sound is excellent, but not loud enough to leave your ears ringing. Multiple parking ramps in a short walking distance. Aside from the younger crowd thinking it's okay to sit on the stairs....
  • First Avenue is a great venue for smaller or emerging artists!! I've been here multiple times and enjoyed every concert I've been to here. The bars are conveniently located near the back and the bathrooms are very large. I also love the stars alongside the outer wall. It really makes it feel like you're getting the best possible shows!
  • I’ve come here a couple times, first for the 7/07/07 show Prince had and the one with the Revolution. I just love the place! There’s something magical about being at the same place your idol made famous...Such good memories of those concerts! (Source)

Xcel Energy Center Reviews:

  • I've seen Wild games and Lynx games from the suite boxes and I thoroughly enjoyed both experiences. When the food and drink are included you can't go wrong. Sitting closer to the glass is quite the experience as well, from my experience those tickets can be difficult to get so enjoy when you can. The food is way above average for arena fare so try something outside the comfort zone!
  • The X is a great venue. I have been able to see hockey, wrestling, and concerts here and have never had a bad experience. For hockey games, there is not really any bad seat in the building. Even if you are in the upper level you have great views. Everything is always clean and working and never off-putting, something that those of us remember the men's rooms at the Metrodome know what I am talking about. Concerts here always sound great, I have seen several different bands and all have sounded great. That is always a concern with some arena shows.
  • Went on a Tuesday. Surprisingly clean, restroom amenities are much better than other stadiums I've been to. Concessions are always expensive at these types of events. I think security did a very good job. They were fast and thorough, but still nice about it. (Source)

Armory Reviews:

  • This place is awesome. I love how there's bars on either side. The sound system is great too. I've seen a couple good shows here so far. Highly recommend. Special shout-out to the tall, red-headed security guard that squeezed me tight enough to convince me this was a safe joint. 😘
  • This is now my favorite venue in town! Great atmosphere- modern flare on an historic gem. Various ticket/seat options. Bar layout is AMAZING and never a wait. The elevated platform adjacent to general floor is an excellent spot for those in short nature!! ;) ticket box has great hours, admission went fast prior to event the only critic is the exiting and coat check is not efficient.
  • Definitely deserves 5 stars! This place is honestly as good as it gets! Great sound! VERY Clean! Balcony seats are Exceptional! With a bar & Restroom always just a few steps away; It’s like sitting in your Lazy Boy at a live performance! I’ve visited close to 50 different venues. The Armory is by far, the nicest venue I’ve ever been to! (Source)

She created the club with two-tiered cabaret-style seating, which she found to be the best way to enhance the musical experience.

Address: 318 N 1st Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55401, United States (Directions)

Fine Line Music Cafe Reviews:

  • Barstools, wall chairs, literally anything to sit on so one could tie a shoe or hack out some exercise asthma without taking up a toilet seat during rush hour would make this place perfect...
  • Fantastic music venue. I've been here for Local H and Reverend Horton Heat and they were both highly memorable nights among the hundreds of live shows I've been to. Front and center for Local H and at a highly recommended balcony table for Rev. Full effect in both cases. Great energy and intimacy, excellent sound mix, and great table service upstairs.
  • We came to see The Hu for my first time at Fine Line Music Cafe. The stage is good sized, even when the band had 8 guys. This show was sold out so it was definitely packed, but I've been in worse. The drinks were well made & bartenders did a great job keeping the lines of people served. Sight lines to the stage from the floor were excellent & although I didn't use the balcony my impression is that viewing the stage from there would be fine for those who don't want to stand. Easy to get to & close parking only adds to the appeal of this venue. (Source)

Cedar Cultural Center Reviews:

  • Love this community spot! Tickets are easy to get, and staff are helpful. It is first come, first served for seats. Who ever curate's the talent does a fantastic job. Not one poor performance.
  • The Cedar has really been a boon to the mpls music scene. Watched several up and coming acts as part of their series on new artists (they provide grant money and stage time with advertising, etc for the artists!). The room was packed, staff were helpful and friendly, my only complaint is parking is a bit tricky if you choose to drive, but it isn't impossible and alternatives to cars exist. Great place, great atmosphere, great music!
  • Went to see Samantha Fish here several months ago. I've been to several shows here before and they were all great. At the last show, I brought my 74 year old father with. He uses a cane and has balance and mobility problems. He was struggling to get through the crowd and the staff made sure to lead him through with a flashlight so he could see his steps, and gave our family front row reserved seats so he could see the show and not struggle to get about. Really appreciate their accommodations and kind, understanding staff. I've always loved to see music here and they always have interesting line ups, but the way they took care of my father put them over the top in my book! Great venue, great music, great employees, great times :) (Source)

Skyway Theatre Reviews:

  • I think they do a great job of booking awesome performers here. When I see a musician I adore is coming to town, this is the place that booked them. I know I can always look at their line up for great shows. They could do a bit more to revamp the old movie theatre setting and make the environment a bit more fun. I would add that while I was injured and using crutches, the staff were extremely accommodating and made sure I had elevator access all night long - I really appreciated this. On two visits they did this for me and were very patient and helpful about it, even if I just wanted to step out to smoke. Always amazing music and great performances here.
  • I met the love of my life in a mosh pit at Skyway, so yeah, five stars. Honestly though, a great venue with a variety of shows and awesome sound system. Definitely a favorite among me and my friends.
  • I've seen Yelawolf twice(3 if you count the one he walked off stage with exhaustion)and IT WAS AWESOME. The acoustics are amazing, the staff is accommodating and friendly, and the drinks are pretty reasonable! I've never been to a venue like this and the way the floor to stage is set up, there isn't really a bad spot in the house! Terrific venue!! (Source)

Target Center Reviews:

  • Not a terrible place to watch a basketball game if you are on the lower level. The renovation from a couple years ago made it feel a little nicer but the building itself feels dated. Probably not worth replacing until we can get past the first round of the playoffs. Venue is okay for concerts. Convenient location with good amount of parking in Ramp A & B. Train stations nearby.
  • Let's go Wolves! My Husband , son and I go to Timberwolves games a lot! The music, food and fun is always amazing! Last time we caught a free tee-shirt! We have met Jordan Bell and he gifted us some amazing tickets. What an amazing place to go for family fun! ....and adults can enjoy Beer!
  • Our grand soon (8 years old) was able to play on the floor of this awesome stadium a week ago. What fun! everyone was very friendly and helpful in finding our way around awesome venue. (Source)

Phone: +1 612-285-3112

Amsterdam Bar & Hall Reviews:

  • This place is really great. Good food and beer selection, Good music, and a great space for putting together a remarkable event. The only reason I give it a 4 out of 5 is that the bar is not designed as well as it could be and it causes longer lines for drinks than some people would deem satisfactory. The servers are doing the best they can with the space though, I would just like to see the bar and stool area re-designed a bit for efficiency.
  • Tonight was the second time I came here, and it was for another show. The beer on tap is very extensive work beer that you really can't find on tap anywhere else. Grolsch on tap? Yes! I can't even believe it. The Gin list is fabulous and well, which makes this place rise higher up on my want to revisit list. The Gin and tonic I had was a perfect balance that you can't easily find at other bars. I recommend the food as well. The fries with the curry ketchup is a killer mix, and one that I need more of in my life.
  • Great venue. We went for a show here and really liked the space they have for the bands. Stage looked to have a good amount of space too. We didn't eat there but all the food I saw looked great and smelled amazing. Will be getting there to dine really soon. (Source)
