In a heartfelt statement issued on January 31st, Josh Franceschi, the lead vocalist of You Me At Six, revealed the band's decision to part ways. The lineup, featuring Max Helyer, Chris Miller, Matt Barnes, and Daniel Flin, has reached a mutual consensus to disband.
Franceschi reflects on the band's journey: "Starting as kids, our aspirations were rooted in longevity, exploring the world, and enjoying this adventure as a close-knit group of friends. Approaching our 20th anniversary, it feels like the right moment to conclude this chapter."
Despite the news of disbanding, the band plans to celebrate their illustrious career with their fans. "We're lucky that our fans are eager to experience our live performances. We're excited to celebrate with them during our tours in 2024 and 2025," Franceschi adds.
Since their formation in the mid-2000s, You Me At Six has enjoyed a successful career with eight studio albums. Notable releases include chart-toppers 'Cavalier Youth' and 'Suckapunch'. Their latest work, 'Truth Decay', released in 2023, secured the fourth spot on the UK Albums Chart.
Before embarking on their farewell tour, the band will headline Slam Dunk Festival in Leeds and Hertfordshire in May 2025. Additionally, they will tour the UK in February as part of their 10th-anniversary celebration for 'Cavalier Youth'.
