Born in Turkey, he’s a celebrated qanun soloist known for blending traditional Turkish music with a cosmopolitan style. He’s performed over 1,000 concerts worldwide, including at Sydney Opera House and UNESCO Paris, impressing global leaders from the Queen of England to the Pope. A recipient of international awards, he’s collaborated with virtuosos and leads the Kanun Namına Project, promoting Turkish music internationally. He also founded Ahmet Baran Academy, teaching masterclasses globally and inspiring qanun students everywhere.
