Born in New York City, the Bill Charlap Trio, formed in 1997 with Peter Washington (bass) and Kenny Washington (drums), is a leading jazz ensemble. Acclaimed for sophisticated interpretations of the American popular songbook and jazz standards, Charlap's elegant piano playing defines their style. The trio has earned multiple GRAMMY nominations, and Charlap won a GRAMMY for his work with Tony Bennett. Notable albums include "And Then Again" (2024) and "Street of Dreams" (2021).
