DDT (or ДДТ in Cyrillic) is a legendary Russian rock band founded in 1980 in Ufa by front-man and singer-songwriter Yuri Shevchuk. The band's name originates from the chemical insecticide dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane. It stands as one of the most successful, prolific, and culturally significant musical groups in the former Soviet Union and modern Russia.
