Eva Mattes, born in Tegernsee, Germany in 1954, is a German-Austrian actress, singer, and narrator. A prominent figure in New German Cinema, she is known for collaborations with Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Werner Herzog, appearing in films like *The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant* and *Woyzeck*. She also starred as Detective Klara Blum in the *Tatort* series. Awards include the Cannes Film Festival Jury's Special Grand Prix and Bavarian Film Awards.
