Evicshen, also known as Victoria Shen, is a San Francisco-based experimental sound artist and instrument-maker. She is celebrated for her innovative use of analog modular synthesizers, self-built electronics, and "chaotic sound" that favors extreme textures and gestural tones. Shen invented "Needle Nails" and released the LP "Hair Birth," known for its playable copper album art. She has collaborated with artists like Mix Master Mike and the Kronos Quartet, and her dynamic performances blur the lines between sound, visual, and tactile art.
