Die Fehlfarben, formed in Düsseldorf in 1979, are pioneers of German punk and Neue Deutsche Welle. Known for their post-punk hit "Ein Jahr (Es Geht Voran)," their 1980 debut *Monarchie und Alltag* became a modern German rock classic. Their sound evolved from ska-punk to post-punk and new wave, with key collaborators including members from Mittagspause and D.A.F. Despite early struggles, they reunited multiple times and influenced the German music scene for decades.
