Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, founded in Los Angeles by Kansas-born Gordon Goodwin, is an 18-piece contemporary jazz orchestra. They blend classic big band swing with rock, pop, funk, and Latin influences, known for energetic arrangements and virtuoso soloists. The band earned multiple Grammy Awards, including for "Life in the Bubble," and numerous nominations. Their work includes "Raymond Scott Reimagined." Collaborations feature artists like Chick Corea and Take 6. Gordon Goodwin, a multi-Emmy and Grammy winner, passed away in December 2025.
