Gorgoroth, a Norwegian black metal band founded in 1993 by Infernus and Tormentor, drew its name from Tolkien's works. Known for a consistent, raw sound despite lineup changes, they've collaborated with members from Emperor, Satyricon, and Aeturnus. Major label debut with Nuclear Blast in 1998.
