Greg Graffin, born in Wisconsin, is the frontman of Bad Religion, known for punk rock with thoughtful, intense lyrics on political and social issues. With a master's in geology and a Ph.D. in biology, Graffin merges music and intellect. He has released solo work exploring personal themes in folk and country styles, such as "American Lesion" and "Cold as the Clay." A collaborator with artists like NOFX and Joan Jett, he also produced albums and has ties with the Weakerthans and Social Distortion. Graffin co-founded Epitaph Records with the band.
