Portrayal of Guilt is an American black metal and hardcore band formed in Austin, Texas, in 2017 by guitarist and vocalist Matt King, bassist Blake Given, and drummer James Beveridge. Known for their intense, genre-blending sound that incorporates elements of screamo, black metal, and nihilistic hardcore, the group gained critical acclaim with their 2018 debut album Let Pain Be Your Guide and subsequent releases like 2021's We Are Always Alone.
