Honey Cone, a Los Angeles-based female soul trio, formed in 1968 by Edna Wright, Carolyn Willis, and Shellie Clark, gained fame in the early '70s. Influenced by Motown, they worked with Holland/Dozier/Holland. Their hits include "Want Ads" and "Stick Up." Honey Cone released several albums, with "Want Ads" topping both R&B and pop charts. The group disbanded in 1973. Founding member Edna Wright passed away in 2020.
