Akron, Ohio-born vocalist Howard Hewett relocated to Los Angeles, danced on Soul Train, then joined Shalamar in 1979. After going solo in 1985, he scored R&B hits "I'm for Real," "Stay" and 1990’s "Show Me," and duetted with Dionne Warwick and Anita Baker.
