Born as a one-man punk blues act, Jawbone gained attention when DJ John Peel aired his raw music on BBC Radio 1 in 2004. His sound, influenced by Hasil Adkins, blends blues with rockabilly, echoing Captain Beefheart and Billy Childish. Tracks like "Hi-De-Hi" and "Jackrabbit" were featured in Peel’s final Festive 50. Compared to Bruce Springsteen's folk, Jawbone's music offers a raw, vintage blues vibe. He has also explored folk and country genres and released "Babylon Dodge" demos as Biker Priests in 2023.
