Jessica Care Moore, born in Detroit, Michigan, is an acclaimed interdisciplinary poet, recording artist, and publisher. She fuses spoken word with soul, rock, and hip-hop. A five-time "Showtime at the Apollo" winner and Detroit's Poet Laureate, her works include the award-winning "We Want Our Bodies Back" and the album "Black Tea: The Legend of Jessi James." She has collaborated with artists such as Nas and Talib Kweli. Moore is also the founder of Black WOMEN Rock!.
