His notable roles include music director of the St. Louis Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra, and Detroit Symphony Orchestra. He holds six Grammy Awards and the U.S. National Medal of the Arts. Slatkin collaborated with top orchestras, recorded extensively, and in 2019, a Naxos recording was Grammy-nominated.
