Lift is a German rock band formed in Dresden in 1973. Originating from the dissolution of the Dresden Sextett, the group underwent several lineup changes in its early years, with vocalist and percussionist Werther Lohse, who joined in 1974, becoming its longest-standing member. Known for their classic rock sound and ballads, they released their self-titled debut album in 1977, followed by notable releases such as Meeresfahrt and Spiegelbild, and they remain active in the live music scene, often touring alongside other classic East German rock bands.
