Maki Nomiya, born in 1960, is known as the "Queen of Shibuya-kei," leading Pizzicato Five to international success in the '90s. She's admired by Mick Jagger and Tim Burton. After the band's 2001 disbandment, she launched a solo career, releasing acclaimed jazz albums and exploring Shibuya-kei roots. Active in music, fashion, and writing, she marked her 40th career anniversary in 2021.
