About Papa M

David Pajo, born in Texas and raised in Louisville, is known for his solo work as Papa M. A founding member of Slint, he played with Tortoise, Stereolab, and more. Papa M’s music spans post-rock to folk, with albums like "Live from a Shark's Cage" and "A Broke Moon Rises." Pajo’s haunting guitar style features synths and space-like expanses. Noted for collaborations with Monade and work with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Interpol, he faced personal struggles but returned with "Highway Songs" in 2016 and "Ballads of Harry Houdini" in 2024.
