Duranguense pioneers Patrulla 81 formed in Durango in 1981. Their melodeon-driven sound fueled early songs like Ojitos and Tu Mirada. Breakthrough came with 2004 live album En Vivo Desde Dallas, Texas (No. 4 Billboard Regional Mexican); won La Revelacion del Ano at Premios Que Buena.
