He rose to fame with 1994’s Necktie Second, shared stages with Tom Petty and Neil Young, formed The Thorns with Matthew Sweet and Shawn Mullins, and collaborated with Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard. His heartfelt lyrics and understated delivery shine in his acclaimed solo work and projects with wife Elaine Summers.
