Renaud Capuçon is a French classical violinist and conductor born in Chambéry in 1976. He studied at the Paris Conservatory and in Berlin under Thomas Brandis and Isaac Stern before becoming the concertmaster of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester under Claudio Abbado. He has established an international career as a major soloist and chamber musician, performing with leading orchestras globally, and has served as the artistic director of several prominent classical music festivals as well as the music director of the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne.
