Richard Barone, born in Hoboken, NJ, pioneered indie rock with The Bongos and chamber pop with "cool blue halo." Collaborated with Tony Visconti, Donovan, and Lou Reed. Staged shows at Carnegie Hall, and wrote "Frontman." His works celebrate '60s Greenwich Village music. He teaches at The New School, served on the GRAMMYs Board, and hosts Folk Radio on WBAI New York.
