Saetia, a New York City-based band formed in 1997, pioneered the screamo genre with their intensely emotional, raw, and chaotic yet melodic sound, blending hardcore punk and post-hardcore. Their influential work includes songs like "Venus and Bacchus" and "The Sweetness and the Light." They released the "Tendrils" EP in 2025 and a split with Portraits Of Past in 2026. Saetia is highly regarded for shaping the screamo scene.
