After leaving the band in 2010, he embraced a solo career, drawing on rockabilly and doo-wop influences. A Warner exec signed him on the spot, leading to his major-label debut, Modern Life. Dubbed "the new Jackie Wilson," Cranstoun has performed with legends like Little Richard.
