Steeleye Span, a pivotal British folk-rock band, rose to fame in the mid-'70s with hits like "All Around My Hat." Known for blending traditional songs with original material, they've collaborated with Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson and David Bowie. Despite lineup changes, founder Maddy Prior has largely led the group. Their inventive albums, including Parcel of Rogues and Now We Are Six, secured U.K. chart success, and they've remained a vibrant touring act for over five decades. Celebrated for their enduring influence on British roots music, Steeleye Span marked their 50th anniversary in 2019.
