The Accüsed is an American crossover thrash band formed in Oak Harbor, Washington in 1981 by bassist Chibon "Chewy" Batterman, drummer Dana Collins, and guitarist Tommy Niemeyer. Pioneering the integration of hardcore punk and thrash metal, the group dubbed their horror-themed sound "splatter rock," a style further defined by the addition of vocalist Blaine Cook in 1984. They are well known for creating their signature zombie mascot, Martha Splatterhead, who featured prominently across most of their album artwork and promotional materials. Following an extended hiatus after 1992, the band regrouped under Niemeyer's leadership, continuing to tour internationally and release new material well into the 2020s.
