Formed in 1977 in San Francisco, The Avengers, led by singer Penelope Houston are a pioneering American punk rock and early hardcore punk. Though originally disbanded in 1979, the band reunited. They remain highly active today, extensively touring internationally and playing major underground punk festivals.
