The Blackout is a Welsh post-hardcore band formed in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales in 2003. Comprising vocalists Gavin Butler and Sean Smith, guitarists James Davies and Matthew Davies, bassist Rhys Lewis, and drummer Gareth Lawrence, the group is known for their energetic live performances and dynamic sound that blends rock, metal, and punk. Their discography includes notable studio albums such as their 2007 debut We Are the Dynamite, The Best in Town (2009), Hope (2011), and Start the Party (2013). After disbanding following a farewell tour in 2015, the band officially reunited in 2023 to play a series of sold-out shows and festival appearances.
