The Space Lady, born Susan Dietrich Schneider in Las Animas, CO, became a distinctive street performer in Boston and San Francisco in the '80s and '90s. Known for her ethereal covers and originals like "Synthesize Me," she gained a following with her keyboard and winged helmet. Her music, featured on "Songs in the Key of Z: The Curious World of Outsider Music, Vol. 2," led to a resurgence, world tours, and collaborations, including with Burnt Ones.
