Tony Furtado, born in Pleasanton, CA, now in Portland, OR, is an evocative singer and multi-instrumentalist known for his banjo and slide guitar skills. A winner of the National Bluegrass Banjo Championship in 1987, he signed with Rounder Records in 1990, releasing six acclaimed albums. He has collaborated with Alison Krauss and Jerry Douglas, and toured with Gregg Allman and Derek Trucks, blending American music styles expertly.
