Information

Formed in Detroit in 1995, Detroit Cobras, led by Rachel Nagy & Maribel Restrepo, excelled in revamping obscure R&B and rock classics. Known for albums like 'Mink Rat or Rabbit' & 'Life, Love and Leaving,' they've won international acclaim and remained vital in the garage rock scene.

Detroit's Gories, formed in 1986, redefined garage punk with raw, soulful tracks influenced by Bo Diddley and John Lee Hooker. Known for hits like "Houserockin'," and albums like "Outta Here," they worked with producer Alex Chilton. Reunited in 2009, their live 1988 recordings were released by Jack White's label.
