Over the Rhine, una banda con sede en Ohio, formada en el '89 por Karin Bergquist y Linford Detweiler, crea un "art-pop con tintes folclóricos, pseudo-alternativo, post-nuclear." Conocida por "Patience" del '92 y "Eve" del '94, la banda combina influencias literarias, como Dylan Thomas, con sus raíces del Medio Oeste. Han colaborado con Joe Henry y Lucinda Williams.
