Born into the Staple Singers, Mavis Staples is a legendary American soul, gospel, and blues singer known for hits across 7 decades. A multi-GRAMMY winner and Kennedy Center Honoree, she’s worked with legends like Bob Dylan, Prince, and Aretha Franklin.
Rhiannon Giddens, a GRAMMY-winning artist, blends folk with deep history and modern flair. Born in North Carolina, she co-founded Carolina Chocolate Drops and leads the Silkroad Ensemble. Known for her collaborations with Francesco Turrisi and the Silkroad Ensemble, Giddens has also won a Pulitzer Prize. She hosts a PBS show and two podcasts, and is set to launch the Biscuits & Banjos festival.
Born near Pittsburgh, Rissi Palmer blends country and R&B into “Southern Soul.” Known for hits like “Country Girl,” she’s performed at the Grand Ole Opry and shared stages with Taylor Swift.
The Blind Boys of Alabama are gospel legends, winners of five Grammy® Awards, and NEA honorees. Known for gospel to contemporary covers, they've collaborated with Eric Clapton, Prince, and more.
Atlanta-born Toshi Reagon blends blues, folk, rock, and reggae with a powerful voice. Daughter of Freedom Singers, she's known for activism-infused, genre-crossing music.
