Tom Bailey released his debut solo album Science Fiction in 2018 on his Mikrokosmos label. Formerly of Thompson Twins, who played Live Aid and scored No. 1 US Dance hits including Lies, Hold Me Now and In the Name of Love.
Formed in 1979 near Liverpool, England, China Crisis are a new romantic pop duo (Gary Daly and Eddie Lundon) known for political touches and reggae rhythms. Hits include "Wishful Thinking" and "Black Man Ray"; Flaunt the Imperfection hit the U.K. Top Ten.
U.K. techno-pop trio Heaven 17 formed in 1981 by Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh with vocalist Glenn Gregory, after leaving the Human League. Best known for The Luxury Gap and hits "Temptation" and "(We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang."
UK pop group Bucks Fizz won 1981 Eurovision, hit big with “Making Your Mind Up”; ’80s chart regulars. Lineup/legal battles led to The Fizz; produced by Mike Stock.
Altered Images, led by iconic frontwoman Clare Grogan, are new wave stars who won NME’s Best New Act and scored 1980s Top 10 hits including Happy Birthday, I Could Be Happy and Don’t Talk To Me About Love. Collaborators include Stephen Lironi and Bernard Butler.
Marc Almond is a singer/songwriter best known for Soft Cell. His solo work spans theatrical pop and cabaret, from Stories of Johnny to The Stars We Are. Collaborated with Nico, Gene Pitney, Jarvis Cocker, and Jools Holland; earned an honorary doctorate in 2017.
Midlands-based soul singer Jaki Graham became a leading U.K. R&B/dance artist with ’80s hits like "Round and Round" and Top Ten singles "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love" and "Set Me Free." Collaborated with UB40, Kim Wilde, Paul Hardcastle, and Afrika Bambaataa.
