Greenville-born Nikki Lane blends vintage country with indie rock in her bold music. Known for albums like *Highway Queen* and songs "Right Time" and "Send the Sun," she's collaborated with Dan Auerbach, Lana Del Rey, and Josh Homme.
The Black Crowes, led by the Robinson Brothers, hail from Atlanta and are known for their gritty rock and blues sound. Reuniting in 2019, they celebrated 30 years of "Shake Your Money Maker" with over 150 global shows. Collaborating with producer Jay Joyce, their latest album, "Happiness Bastards," marks a triumphant return to their roots.
Akron's Black Keys, comprising Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, evolved from blues-rock roots into a versatile act. Known for hits "Tighten Up" and "Lonely Boy," they achieved Grammy wins, hit platinum with Brothers, and expanded their sound with producer Danger Mouse. Collaborations include ZZ Top's Billy F. Gibbons and Kings of Leon's Angelo Petraglia. After a hiatus, they returned with Let's Rock in 2019 and the acclaimed Delta Kream in 2021, showcasing Mississippi blues. Frequent collaborators, they've worked with Alice Cooper, releasing "Stay in Your Grave."
Formed in Colchester, England, Modern English gained fame with "I Melt With You," a New Wave classic featured on 1982's *After the Snow*. They evolved from dark post-punk to a more commercial sound. They were featured twice by BBC's John Peel and collaborated with producer Hugh Jones. The band continues to create and tour.
Sugarhill Gang, pioneers from New York, launched hip-hop with "Rapper's Delight" in 1979, selling over 8 million copies. Known for hits like "8th Wonder" and "Apache," they faded by mid-80s but returned in 1999.
