LineUp

1927, an Australian soft rock band, formed in the late '80s by ex-Moving Pictures guitarist Gary Frost and singer Eric Weideman, achieved massive success with their debut album ...Ish! It topped charts and sold over 400,000 copies. Their hit "That's When I Think of You" won the 1988 ARIA award for Best Debut Single. Produced by Charles Fisher, the band was known for catchy songs but struggled with later releases. They collaborated with Charles Fisher and ex-Moving Pictures' keyboardist Charlie Cole, disbanding in 1993.
Founded in Melbourne in 1985, Boom Crash Opera combined muscular rock with rich melodics, akin to INXS and Tears for Fears. Known for hits like "Great Wall" and "Onion Skin," they achieved national success but found limited international fame. Member shifts and label issues marked their journey.
