Queen and ABBA

Queen, formed in 1971 by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon, blended heavy metal and prog rock with camp humor. Known for hits like "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Somebody to Love," they achieved superstardom with the 1975 album *A Night at the Opera*. Mercury's charisma and unique voice defined the band, while each member contributed signature songs. They collaborated with artists like David Bowie and continued to gain international fame. After Mercury's death in 1991, the band's legacy persisted, bolstered by the 2018 film *Bohemian Rhapsody*. Now, Queen tours with Adam Lambert as frontman.

ABBA, formed in Sweden (1972), shot to fame with 'Waterloo'. Known for hits like 'Dancing Queen', 'Mamma Mia', they dominated the 70s pop scene. Re-emerged with ABBA Gold in 1992.
