Acid Bath and Voivod

Voivod, formed in 1982 in Jonquière, Quebec, is a pioneering metal band known for their unique fusion of thrash, prog, and punk influences. They gained international fame with hits like "Nothingface" and a cover of Pink Floyd's "Astronomy Domine." Their lineup has seen changes, including a stint with ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted. They won a Juno for 2019's The Wake. Celebrated for dystopian themes and inventive sound, they continue to evolve with releases like 2022's Synchro Anarchy, marking 40 years in the industry with Morgöth Tales in 2023.

Acid Bath, formed in 1991 in Louisiana, blended Southern gothic, psychedelic rock, and death metal. Known for their surreal lyrics and wild stage presence, they became cult icons. Despite disbanding in 1997 after bassist Audie Pitre's death, their influence endures. Members went on to form Goatwhore, Agents of Oblivion, and more.
